A New Stage of Cooperation with Switzerland in Vocational Education

On May 4, 2026, a meeting was held at the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education with the leadership of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) within the framework of the official visit of Switzerland.

The meeting was attended by F. Azimov, Head of the Department of the Vocational Education Agency, X. Kadirov, Director of the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education, as well as representatives of the leadership of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). During the meeting, reforms being implemented in the vocational education system of Uzbekistan were discussed, and special emphasis was placed on the launch of the second phase of the project “Supporting Vocational Education Reforms in Uzbekistan (VET4UZ)”.

During the discussions, the following issues were considered:

• key results and conclusions achieved during the first phase of the project;
• future areas of cooperation within the framework of the second phase;
• development of professional skills;
• strengthening institutional capacity;
• further alignment of vocational education with labour market requirements.

The meeting once again confirmed the strong partnership between Switzerland and Uzbekistan and reflected the shared goals aimed at developing a modern, high-quality, and demand-driven dual vocational education system.
